May I Use that Cliche for this Match-Up?

Submitted by AndrewSforDallas on Fri, 03/28/2008 - 09:16.

Something has got to give in this enticing sweet 16 match-up. On Friday Night, Texas and Stanford will tip off and show off two contrasting styles. Stanford has pro ready big men in Brooke and Robyn Lopez. Those two were pivotal in their overtime victory over Marquette in the second round. Texas has guards all over the place that are sharp shooters and are able to penetrate, the two J's, AJ Abrams and DJ Augustin.

Thoughts on Thursday's March Madness

To start out, my bracket is alive and well. I didn't have such a good first weekend, but I am now third place in my pool. Thank you Louisville and Xavier...you guys were the leaders of my 4-0 Thursday. I want to talk about how I got to 4-0 and the games that occurred on this eventful night.

From A Small Example...Kidd is making me a believer

I, Andrew Schnitker, as a Dallas Mavericks fan was underwhelmed with the idea of acquiring, 35 year old point guard, Jason Kidd. I mean, the trade foreboded a stench of doom from the beginning because of the controversy that surrounded it. First, a seldom used role player, Devean George, uses his rare one year contract no trade clause to stop up negotiations. Then the seasoned veteran, Jerry Stackhouse, blabs to the media about his frowned upon intentions to head back to Dallas once the trade is processed.

"I'm a Better Person Now Because I Have More Money"

I was lounging around the apartment today when I stumbled across Tony Romo's press conference on Fox Sports Net. I'm going to be honest...I actually felt proud of Tony Romo. Romo signed a 6 year, 67.5 million dollar contract yesterday. 31 million dollars of that money is guaranteed. Talk about some security! "17 games was enough convincing" said Jerry Jones. Jones said the Buffalo game presented Romo with adversity, but that he followed through with character. That game was some motivation for getting this deal inked and done.

Anticlimactic is all the World Series knows

"You can't always get what you want", and I have gotten nothing exciting out of the first game of the World Series. All I was asking for was a compelling, long baseball championship this year. The last few years have been "snoozers". 2004 Red Sox - Cardinals...sweep, 2005 White Sox - Astros...sweep, 2006 Cardinals - Tigers...five games. This year appears to be no different, as I watch the Red Sox decapitate the Rockies in the eight inning by a score of 13-1. Of course, I might recieve some arguments to that previous statement, but I'm going to shut those people up real quick.
