A couple of Russian dudes back in the 90s took a poll of the types of music people despise the most: bossanova(?), "oompah-ing tubas", Wal-Mart (wtf?), and George Stephanopoulos (ah ok) - among others. They then compiled all of these monstrosities into a 23 min. song. Listen for the opera rapping about a minute and a half in.

The Guardian has a feature about Mark E. Smith and a very entertaining (and hilarious) excerpt from his new book that's coming out next week (in England at least). Judging by this preview, the book should be a riot. For being a crazy acid-fueled drunkard, he's quite the wise sage. Today's rockstars seem boring in comparison. Is Mark E. Smith the last of a dying breed?

If you haven't been keeping up with news from down south, you may not be aware that there is a dramatic (yes, very dramatic indeed) war going on right now. A certain demographic, barely tolerated and largely ignored, is coming under attack for its differences. The victims? Homosexuals? native Indians? Nope. The answer: emo kids.

Large scale riots have occurred already in Mexico City, Querétaro, and Tijuana. Opposing the eyeliner-wearing emo kids is an alliance between the punks, rockabillies, and metalheads.
