Monday night on the Soul Revue I'll be interviewing legendary Latin music pianist and producer Larry Harlow! "El Judio Maravilloso" was a catalyst of the 1970s NYC Latin music scene producing more than 250 albums for Fania records between 1965-1980 and serving as bandleader for over 50 more. Harlow's searing keys bless two tracks on Grupo Fantasma's latest album and the salsa giant will play with Grupo this Saturday, October 11 at Antones.

Legendary Austin funk band Steam Heat will be live in the studio tonight at 10pm on the Soul Revue! We'll listen to their recently reissued 1975 holy grail rarity "Austin Funk" and rare live recordings from the Armadillo. The band reunites at Threadgill's South this Thursday with 1970s Fable record labelmates Starcrost, 47 X It's Own Weight and Beto & the Fairlaines.

Tonight on the Soul Revue we'll be hearing an interview with Beaumont R&B legend Barbara Lynn, paying tribute to the late New Orleans funk howler Chuck Carbo and giving away tix to see Barbara Lynn at Antone's (Tuesday) and the Waxploitation DJs at Club De Ville (Friday). Tune in at 10pm!

After three years of fronting, the Rev Get Down is now officially an ordained minister!!! By the powers vested in me by the Universal Life Church Monastery I'll be preaching the good gospel of soul and funk with a newfound higher authority. Hallelujah!
