Teens for Sale

On this week’s edition of In the Know, we’ll be talking about a new item on the market: broke teens!
Money is hard to come by for a lot of college students. With tuition rates increasing, gas prices soaring, unemployment rates peaking, and the overall cost of living skyrocketing, some students will pretty much do anything to get their hands on some fast cash.
By ’selling’ their eggs, sperm, plasma, and/or bodies as a whole, students are able to quickly get the money they desperately need. But what happens once they step out of the clinic? Is having a larger wallet really worth it?
We’ll be talking to a student panel here in the studio to see what they have to say. BUT, we also want to know what you have to say. Be sure to call us at (512) 495- KVRX or blog with us here on the site.
A friendly reminder–ITK will only be airing from 7-7:30 during the summer. So be sure to tune in!

i myself am a former blood donor. after coming to ut, i switched to selling plasma. during the hour, i got homework done and was paid an average of 35 bucks. it is highly invasive, though, and if that thing pumps the slightest bit of air instead of the solution back into your body, you’re dead.

I donate blood regularly, but have never done it for money. If things got really tight then I’m sure I would consider donating plasma or sperm. In the meantime, I’ll let my legend as a universal, not-for-profit sperm donor spread across the globe.

hahahaha
I’ve only donated blood once. It sucked hardcore. Maybe I was dehydrated or something. It took FOREEEEver. The idiot kept stabbing my arm, missing my veins. Never doing that again.
Those ads that ask women to sell their eggs for large amounts of money are enticing. However,I’d rather starve than sell my body for money.
My mom said that when they hook you up to that plasma machine, it feels like forks are scraping the inside of your veins.
