This week on In the Know, we are asking you once more: What would you do?
Last week’s show concerning ethical dilemmas was so entertaining that we have decided to come back to this topic.
For instance, what would you do if the person you were seeing revealed to you that they were transgendered? Would that be a reason to call it quits? Also, if you were driving on a lone road and saw someone pulled over on the shoulder, would you get down to help them?
Join us tonight, Wednesday, at 7 pm on 91.7 KVRX Austin. 512-495-KVRX is our # in the booth. You can also blog with us here on the site and let us know what you think. We’ll check the blog while we’re on the air.
What would you do if a good-looking ITK host asked you to please blog with us? I think you know the answer to that one!

Soooo many factors! I travel frequently and see disabled vehicles and always think about what to do. Most times it looks like they’ve got it under control, especially since most everyone has cell phones now. But if they really looked like they needed help, my stopping would depend on the size of the shoulder (can be dangerous doing car repairs near a highway), as well as the frequency of traffic on the road, the time of day and, or course, my own prejudices based on all physical info I can gather about the person(s) I am stopping to help. When in doubt, call someone to help.

Very true, Aaron!
See, this is something I have to ask myself every time I go back home to Eagle Pass. From Austin to San Antonio, I take I-35, which is chock-full of cars and of course the people in those cars. However, from San Antonio to Eagle Pass, it’s nothing but a lonely stretch of Highway 57. It literally looks like something out of the movie ‘Jeepers Creepers’–you’d be lucky if you saw a handful of cars pass you along the way.
Since I usually don’t leave until later in the evening, by the time I reach 57, it’s pretty dark out and uber scary. There are times when I see someone pulled over on the side with their flashes on, standing against their vehicle waiting for some ‘assistance.’ But my thing is: you have no idea who these people are and what their intentions are either. I’ve heard too many stories about what goes down on these lone roads. Frankly, I don’t want to add any more.

That movie was sick. Especially when you saw the victim’s body part grow on the creeper.
I wouln’t stop to help. I can’t change a tire. I have the dealership’s # in my cell phone. That’s all I need to know about fixing cars. And I certainly don’t want to expose myself to the possibility of being taken hostage, brutalized and killed by a dirtbag posing as a stranded driver.
They can call triple A. Or let a crazy 18-wheeler driver pick ‘em up.
