Rowdy and insane. Quite a hell of a show. During soundcheck the bass amp was blasting so loud that a big piece of air conditioning machinery fell out of the wall in the control room - it just vibrated loose. They literally destroyed the building! Check the pics for a photo of the wreckage. At the band's request, we mixed in a pre-recorded CD containing weird crackly noises to represent their absent 7th member. They also asked that we throw a book-on-tape of Michael Crichton's "Sphere" into the mix - a choice that led to a number of eyebrow-lifting coincidences a la "Dark Side of the Rainbow". The two-man drum setup was really cool to watch - both drummers were slugging the hell out of one oversized kit in synchronization. Add the charisma of a twisted vocalist who doubles on trombone, and turn it all up until the building crumbles. Then top it off with rollergirls wandering the halls and a visit from UTPD. What a night. Look out for the video on KVR-TV this fall! |
