Seven Straight Nights, National Coming Out Day

Submitted by upstreamradio on October 13, 2007 - 2:12pm

Wednesday night marked Austin's first Seven Straight Nights rally, an event created for allies of the LGBT community to show support. A partnership between Soulforce and Atticus Circle, supported by the Campus Alliance for Progress and Equality Now in Austin, were primary contributers for the Austin event.

Jodie, the Executive Director of Atticus Circle, and Jake, the Executive Director of the Campus Alliance for Progress guested Upstream on Thursday night and talked about LGBT rights, the Employment Non Discrimination Act, Don't Ask Don't Tell, National Coming Out Day, and the role of allies in the fight for equality.
