Collaboration From Conception

Submitted by StephanieB on Wed, 11/14/2007 - 13:52.

For the past 4 months, I've been working with Art Silva on a collaboration project in which we have been modifying paintings found at thrift stores. Our paintings will be displayed in a grand array, titled The Well-Mannered Theft of Rainbow Mountain, this weekend at the Creative Research Lab. KVRXers may also know Art as the Narrow Escapes.

There will be a performance/conceptual piece about communication from another group. The third group, Sodalitas, are some of my favorite artists in town. They arrange the East Austin Studio Tour (E.A.S.T.), which is this weekend. A good time to go gallery-hopping! Here's more info on the collaboration show.

"A look at the process of individual artists combining efforts to create art with a collective idea or common interest in mind."
