Hello metal fans of Austin and beyond. My radio show, Equilibria Radio, is a metal show on 91.7 FM KVRX Austin, student radio for the University of Texas at Austin. My personal specialty is the so-called "Euro-metal" (Gothic metal. symphonic metal, melodeath, power metal), but my love for Austin lead me to prominently feature Austin and Texas metal on the show.
Equilibria Radio aims to feature a live in-studio interview by an Austin/Texas metal band every week, to the best of my ability. The guest bands also guest DJ, helping me pick music to play on the show. In between their picks, I'll spin my favorite metal tracks, bringing a touch of cold Northern European metal to our warm Southern home.
My first live in-studio interview guests of the year are HUMUT TABAL, an up-and-coming black metal band from the Hill Country. They combine the sharp guitar playing and medieval melodies of early Satyricon with their own technical twist. They are great friends of the show, and I highly recommend them to fans of black metal and Texas metal.
