This album features lush horns and amazing singers. I wouldn't define this as straight-ahead jazz, but as jazz fusion with a strong world music influence. The chord progressions are warm and relaxing, but still interesting and provide a nice backdrop for singer Camila Meza. The ensemble on this record features trombone, trumpet, piano, guitar, bass, drums, and two vocalists, giving it a full sound that doesn't overpower. The horns are capable of doing quiet chorales as well as agile sixteenth note runs. Listen to this record if you like: Snarky Puppy, Pat Metheny, Chick Corea, or Victor Wooten.
