Spring game recap.

The Texas Longhorns football team finished what only a decade or so ago was the second biggest sport in Austin: Spring Football. It wasn’t quite the case this year as it was the day between the Texas basketball team’s win against Stanford and loss to Memphis. However, over 40,000 fans took a couple hours Saturday afternoon to watch the preview for what the 2008 Longhorns may look like. “Tradition” beat “Pride” 17-7, which is essentially meaningless, but some of the position battles were worth looking at.

The quest to down Joe Lunardi: Pickin' the bracket... the long way. (post 3/11 edition)

So, having heard all the guys at ESPN talk about the greatness of Joe Lunardi, Iwanted to see, putting up 10 days of hard work into it (starting last Friday, March 7), to see if I could be close, or even better. So what I'm going to do is list the 65 teams in an outline for a basic list, then go in ridiculous detail underneath in matchup form to explain why. Hopefully, it'll be informative, if not put people tosleep. I also will try to update each day, though the info for the teams won't change much day-to-day unless moved or played.

Will the REAL Tony Romo please stand up?

If Mr. Romo throws out the same performance against the Patriots, that everyone witnessed last night, the cowboys will lose by 50 points. Romo had over 50 pass attempts, way too many, 5 interceptions, and 6 turnovers total. Only two quarterbacks have thrown more interceptions in 1 game, and actually won the game. He increased his interception total by 250% from 2 to 7. Perhaps, he couldn't get Carrie Underwood out of his head, or, maybe he was dreaming about his next witty ESPN commercial. The New England Patriots, next week's opponent, will not let Romo and the Cowboys stay in the game.
