Denver's CAT-A-TAC serves up some jangly jams that would not sound out of place at a C86 comp tribute show.

Kids like to play pinball and dream about being rock stars.

Jeff Suthers is like a big kid in that sense. He's a career musician/guitar tech who also happens to enjoy collecting pinball machines. Lots of pinball machines.

"Thank you guys for coming out. We are 'We Are! We Are!'"

So spake bassist Jim Sutton before going back into another song, his feet seemingly playing a rock version of DDR on the concrete below him as he put his entire self into the progressive instrumental jam that this transplanted Carolina trio has made their trademark. These fun grooves, backed flawlessly by some of the most melodic drumming seen on either side of the Rockies made this one hell of an opener for my Showcase experience.
