In addition to the well-known pop, country, and rock categories, nominees in areas such as blues, folk, polka, and spoken word are honored during the ceremony but never televised. That all changes this year.

Thanks to the efforts of guest DJs Jonathan from Leather and Lace and the Rev. Get-Down from the Afro-Boogaloo Soul Revue, Blues At Sunrise has been going strong throughout the Winter interim break at KVRX. Special thanks to these fine gentlemen for keeping the blues alive these past several weeks!

This Wednesday (12/12) on Blues At Sunrise from 7-9 AM, DJ Smokehouse Brown will be giving away tickets to see legendary 94-year old Chicago blues pianist Pinetop Perkins. Pinetop is playing a Christmas show at Antone's on December 12th (also this Wednesday!), to celebrate his recent double-Grammy nomination. Tune in to KVRX 91.7 FM not only to hear some great blues, but for a chance to see Pinetop Perkins LIVE!
