How did you first hear about or get involved with KVRX?

The idea of student radio always seemed so far-fetched before I transferred to UT. I remember powering through the gazillion HornsLink pages of some of the most niche organizations on campus before I stumbled upon the beautiful KVRX logo.

After attending a shockingly fun and comfortable training led by none other than station legend Evan Stack, I was on my way to having my first of many shows here on 91.7.

What shows have you had on KVRX?

Kaleidoscopic Kickstart — Fall 2018, Spring 2019 — Freeform

This one started it all. Played strictly the indiest of guitar rock and had a ball.

A Tale of Two Ditties — Fall 2019 — Freeform

Was joined by papa bear on this production. Drew Curran and I picked drastically different genres every show, 30 minutes each. It has a pretty clever bio on kvrx.org.

Fuzzy Compressor — Fall 2020, Spring 2021 — Specialty

The crown jewel. Four years for the old taste buds to grow. What started as an effects/pedal show quickly devolved into Chris's favorite songs of the week. Best intro in the game.

What is your favorite KVRX memory?

This is more of a memory that KVRX helped create. Cole Hunt and Aly Gomaa braved the West Campus night a couple of months back to come jam at the Burleson estate. My power was on the fritz and left us with only our thoughts and conversations, a candle on the kitchen table providing the only flicker of light in the room. Laughs were had and human connection was aplenty between myself and two people I had only had limited exposure to. I consider them both great friends now.

Tell us about your final playlist!

In the attempt to create a complete representation of my entire college experience, I made this sh*t way too long. I'm allotted two hours. This baby is 4 hours plus. Austin might have pretty lenient squatter's rights. We'll see how far into it we get. Hopefully we get to the Young Thug into Ween transition.
