It is the month of green and live music, so I rebleached my green raccoon tail, a sweet, short-lived memory of the bright green hair I once had. If you know me, the thing that keeps me up at night is knowing I have upcoming shows and concerts to attend. I have been tossing and turning thinking about all the live music that has yet to grace my ears for this year’s SXSW season. My show lineup for this month is stacked, and because of this I have been averaging more than 3,000 minutes of music a week, according to Airbuds.
I cannot contain my excitement, so I decided to compile a few things I have been listening to on rotation. Some artists I am seeing live this month, some I hope to see, and some I have already seen.
Below is what i have been listening to in march, feel free to take a listen if you are curious about my musical tastes or just want some new music to hear, perhaps my descriptions might intrigue you…
Falling in love again/Joyce Manor- The one thing I love about having a car is that I can explore the city with no destination in mind while blasting music. Joyce Manor is a must on my March list and the perfect band to shout in the car. I’m seeing them live this month and will have the TIME OF MY LIFE! #Imfallinginloveagain
Eye in the sky/ The Alan Parsons Project- Im in my rollerskating era and this is playing profusely. The weather is semi nice and I see squirrels again, a good stroll song.
French Kiss/ The Teenagers - This song is so house party… such a hypnotizing bridge.`
This Love is Ethereal but Mellow / Arranged in April — I first heard this song outside 21st Co-op while waiting in line to get in for their show. I still have MAJOR FOMO that I was stuck in line waiting during their set, but nonetheless this is the perfect song to listen to when you feel like your heart is too big for your head. I am also seeing them again this month, such a lovely month for live music!
Listen to my tunes here :)
