Why you joined KVRX?
I love music and wanted to get more involved in the music scene since Austin has such a robust one. I fell in love with KVRX for the people and the awesome personality the station has. KVRX is larger than life, it’s larger than all of us, it’s this great beacon that draws in all of the coolest most awesome people and bonds us all over great music and media.
Favorite KVRX Memory?
So many.. maybe too many to count. I think my favorite times in KVRX have been in a full booth doing a show where we talk about anything and everything. I love being a guest on my friends’ shows and inviting people to mine. And tuning in or getting callers— just any moment that has exemplified the kind of community engagement that KVRX exemplifies, through a medium that is kind of weaning like radio.
Advice for New DJS?
Be open minded and willing to step out of your comfort zone. Listen to an album from a genre you hate. Go to a show alone and talk to strangers. So many opportunities present themselves when you approach life without any inhibitions :D
